The Texas Tech-Air Force game has some interesting network feuding connected to it: WTBS was planning on showing this game and actually promoted it on-air. ABC decided to add it to its regional schedule, though WTBS' program director didn't even find out about it until ABC announced it during the UCLA-Georgia game. He accused ABC of sabotage and threatened to sue, saying, "I think they were sharpshooting our schedule. You'll never convince me they wanted it for another reason." ABC's response was that they needed a game for the Southwest and Rocky Mountain markets. (BD Sullivan, 2015)
