On 9/23, Schenkel and Wilkinson were scheduled to announce the Penn St-Navy game. However, there was an NABET strike of engineers and technicians which AFTRA was supporting and this duo (members of AFTRA) refused to work the game. So ABC sports producer Chuck Howard did pxp on this game. Howard lined up Tarman (Penn St SID) and Thalman (Navy SID) to provide color commentary. For the other 9/23 games, I listed the announcers who were scheduled to work those games (but am unsure whether the AFTRA strike impacted these announcer crews). Schenkel and Wilkinson definitely returned the following week and called the Mich-Cal game.
