2026 MLB Season
The 2026 Major League Baseball season features significant changes to its national broadcast coverage. With ESPN opting out of its contract to air Sunday Night Baseball after the 2025 season, MLB renegotiated three new TV deals through 2028. It will also see the return of regular-season games on NBC and ABC for the first time in 30 years.
This season, Sunday Night Baseball will move to NBC, streaming on Peacock for the first couple of months, before airing weekly on broadcast TV during the summer. Sunday Leadoff will return to Peacock after two years on the Roku Channel. In addition, the entire Wild Card series will air on NBC Sports properties.
ESPN will retrain its relationship with MLB, but with a new agreement airing 30 exclusive games with select dates on ABC. In addition, they have acquired MLB.TV, which will be part of their DTC service ESPN Unlimited. ESPN Radio will continue to broadcast regular-season games and the entire MLB Postseason.
Netflix has agreed to stream select MLB special events, including the season’s Opening game, the 2026 Home Run Derby in July, and the Field of Dreams Game in August.
MLB’s contracts with FOX, Turner Sports, and Apple TV will remain unchanged.
