1979 MLB Season
Baseball enters the world of national cablecasts this year as UA/Columbia (today known as USA) begins telecasts with Thursday Night Baseball. The games would only be aired in markets that did not have a major league team within a 50-mile radius. Details of what games were televised are sketchy at this point, so any assistance on these would be most appreciated.

Also worth noting that ABC begins to broadcast Sunday afternoon games in August/September, both as counter-programming against the NFL on CBS and NBC, and because ABC was obviously preoccupied on Monday nights in September. Unlike ABC's Monday night games, these games were non-exclusive in road markets. For instance, the LA-CIN game on 9/9 could be televised by the Dodgers themselves rather than having to defer to ABC.
