This was the first All-Star Game to be carried on a network basis.

Friday 10/7:

As in 1948, the Series was pooled and available to all commercial stations. 51 stations in the Midwest and East signed up to televise the Series. Production of the pooled feed was provided by DuMont for games at Yankee Stadium and by CBS at Ebbets Field.
