Coming over from the disbanded All-America Conference (AAC, or thanks to revisionist history, the AAFC) were the Cleveland Browns, Baltimore Colts and the San Francisco 49ers. The New York Bulldogs changed their name to the New York Yanks. The rest of the NFL consists of the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cardinals, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, Los Angeles Rams, New York (football) Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, Pittsburgh Steelers and Washington Redskins.

The Redskins become the first team to form a network of affiliates. Sponsored by Amoco gasoline, the Redskins TV network has a handful of outlets in the Southeast.

Some of the information may be incomplete.

The Browns proved they were the real deal by beating the Eagles handily, 35-10. Per keen digger ku, the game was also carried by ABC-TV.
