1960 saw a new league being formed, the AFL. This new league would sign a five-year deal (wishful thinking??) with ABC for TV coverage of its league. These charter teams were: Boston Patriots, Buffalo Bills, Dallas Texans, Denver Broncos, Houston Oilers, Los Angeles Chargers, New York Titans and Oakland Raiders.
