1971-72 NBA Season

In the summer of 1971, two of the three California teams moved. The Warriors moved across the bay, from Daly City south of San Francisco to the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Arena. The Rockets took off from San Diego and moved to Houston’s Hofheinz Pavilion. The Rockets stayed in the Pacific Division, even though it might have made sense to switch them to the Midwest in favor of Phoenix.
