1964-65 NBA Season

In the summer of 1964, the NBA and ABC struck a deal. Thus the network that had not yet devised Monday Night Football began a nine-year tenure as the NBA's television outlet in 1964-1965.

The teams and divisions remained unchanged from their ’63-’64 alignment. The Warriors moved into the city proper, splitting time between War Memorial Gymnasium at the University of San Francisco and the San Francisco Civic Auditorium. Your guess is as good as mine as to which games were played where.

With the exception of a few early-season games designed to showcase certain players, ABC began the practice of not starting its schedule till the holidays.
