2026 NASCAR Cup Series

This is the second season of the seven-year NASCAR contract with Fox Sports, Amazon Prime Video, TNT Sports, The CW, NBC Sports and Versant (the last of which is now a separate entity after a corporate spinoff was completed in January 2026). No commentary changes are expected.

However, there has been yet another widespread schedule change:

For the first time, NASCAR will race on an active military base, Naval Base Coronado near San Diego. The three-race card is meant to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States' Declaration of Independence on the dates used for last year's card in Mexico City.
The Chicago street course is being replaced by the return to Chicagoland Speedway for the first time since 2019.
Also for the first time since then, the last races of the season in all three top series will occur at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
The site for the all-star race shifts yet again, this time to Dover Motor Speedway, while North Wilkesboro gets its first official Cup race since 1996.
Watkins Glen moves to the spring and New Hampshire to the late summer.

Finally, there is no more playoffs as a 10-race "chase" format returns for the first time since 2013.

NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series

The name change for this series is the first since 2015. As for tracks, the San Diego/Mexico City and Chicagoland/Chicago changes also take place, and Darlington gets a second date at the expense of Portland. This series will also have a chase format, with the last nine races deciding a champion.

Although both Kligerman and McMurray are listed as analysts via placeholder, both are expected to miss some races during the season, either because the races are called off-monitor from Charlotte, NC or the use of a possible guest slot as was the case in 2025.
