2024 PWHL season
The Professional Women's Hockey League was announced in August of 2023, taking the place of the Premier Hockey Federation (formerly the National Women's Hockey League) and the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association's Dream Gap Tour as the top women's hockey league in North America. Six teams, three in the United States and three in Canada, will play in the league in 2024.
The inaugural season started on January 1, 2024. Each team will play 24 regular-season games, with 32-game seasons expected in the future.
The league has announced broadcast deals with MSG Networks, NESN, and Bally Sports North in the United States; CBC, TSN, and Sportsnet in English Canada; and Radio-Canada and RDS in French Canada. Games will also be available on YouTube outside of Canada.
