Courts
The centerpiece of the National Tennis Center is Arthur Ashe Stadium, which was built in 1997 and seats 23,771. Louis Armstrong Stadium is the second stadium court, seating 14,000 people and -- more importantly for scheduling purposes -- sporting a roof.
The Grandstand court holds 8,125 spectators as the third stadium court. Court 17, which seats 2,500, is a clear fourth on the hierarchy. The so-called outer courts, numbered 4 through 16, are mostly located between the Grandstand and Court 17.
