Ned Steckel and Bob Strampe filled in for Chris Schenkel and Billy Welu, who missed this telecast because they were striking against ABC, as part of the larger AFTRA (American Federation of Radio and Television Artists) strike against NBC, CBS, ABC Television and Radio, and Mutual Radio...Jack Biondolillo bowled a 300 game on the telecast, earning a $10,000 bonus from ABC. This was the first ever 300 game bowled on a PBA telecast.
